Special effects inks can make an ordinary design fashionable and funky.
Glow in the Dark Inks
Glow in the Dark inks are a good way to hide easter eggs in your designs. After charging in the sun or UV light, these inks will pop off the shirt in a dimly lit bar or taproom. The effect is similar to blacklights. Perfect for an outline, a brand name, skulls, unicorns, eyeballs, whatever element of your design you want highlighted when hanging out in the dark.
Liquid Gold and Liquid Silver are flashier versions of traditional metallic inks. They have more of a reflective quality and provide good contrast against the garment. These inks can hold high detail and print well on most any blend of fabrics without creating a heavy hand-feel.
Puff inks create a tactile, three-dimensional print. The Puff additive is composed of a heat-activated foaming agent, so as the garment goes down the dryer, the ink expands and begins to puff upward. Use it as a minor element or for a more dramatic effect, use it on the entire design.
Puff inks are not as durable as traditional screen print inks. They will begin to crack and flake off after a while, but that’s part of the retro charm.
Crystalina is a translucent, iridescent glitter effect. Similar to Puff, use it to highlight a small component of your design or channel your inner teenage girl and have it applied on top of the full print.
